$20 Million in Rewards Offered for 7 Drug Lords
The State Department has offered as much as $20 million for information leading to the capture of seven members of Mexico’s most notorious drug cartel.
The rewards were offered two months after three brothers of the Arellano Felix cartel and their top lieutenants were indicted on charges of ordering a series of murders to consolidate their control over tons of narcotics flowing into the United States. U.S. authorities say the cartel, based in Tijuana, supplies a third of all cocaine entering the United States. Five of the 12 suspects indicted in July are in Mexican custody.
