Columbia to Yield the Helm of Biosphere 2

Columbia University will cease operating the Biosphere 2 research facility in Arizona on Dec. 22 as part of a settlement in a breach-of-contract suit with Decisions Investments Corp., which will take over the helm.
Built as a prototype space colony near Tucson, 3.1-acre domed greenhouse and ecological lab opened in 1991.
