Blue Ribbons for 6 O.C. Schools
Six Orange County schools have won the Blue Ribbon award, the federal government announced Tuesday.
They are Bathgate Elementary in Mission Viejo, Bryant Ranch Elementary in Yorba Linda, Circle View Elementary and the Hebrew Academy in Huntington Beach, Foothill Ranch Elementary in Foothill Ranch and Rossmoor Elementary in Los Alamitos.
California schools received 36 of the 219 prizes given nationwide. Schools can earn the award by scoring in the top 10% on standardized tests or, at campuses where at least 40% of students are from low-income families, by improving test scores dramatically.
