Despite Plea, Board Won’t Block Dairies
From Times Wire Reports
The Solano County Board of Supervisors declined to place a moratorium on new large-scale dairies while the county is in the process of adopting new rules to govern them.
Dixon Mayor Mary Ann Courville failed to persuade the board to temporarily halt construction of large dairies even though she presented the board with resolutions requesting the moratorium from six of the county’s seven cities.
The cities are concerned about air pollution that could result from a large dairy with several thousand cows.
