Academy Scandal Hangs Over Army Nomination

Leaders of the Senate Armed Services Committee said they want a review of Air Force Secretary James Roche’s handling of an Air Force Academy sexual assault scandal before they approve his nomination to head the Army.
Members of an independent panel told the Senate committee that leaders at Air Force headquarters and the Colorado Springs, Colo., academy ignored numerous warning signs that there were problems with sexual assaults at the institution.
