Doublespeak?
I want to thank Manohla Dargis for eschewing the appearance of giving readers a review of Woody Allen’s latest release, “Anything Else” (“Woody Opts for a Smaller Role,” Sept. 19), and instead gracing us with such a clever parody of self-indulgent critical excess. Her ability to sound loftily dismissive yet profoundly sophomoric as tired criticisms and borrowed insights are recycled yet again was truly tone perfect.
Please tell me when an informed piece by one of your real critics will appear.
