Dating for the young and shallow

Share

From the “it’s a jungle out there” world of online matchmaking comes a new entry: VanityDate.com, whose unabashed (and tongue-in cheek?) motto seems to be: If you rate, you date.

Feeling brave? Fill out a form listing your personal specifications, upload a photo (“very important,” the application says) and -- they’ll be the judge. Here’s how the site introduces itself:

“Welcome to VanityDate.com, the world’s most judgmental, shallow dating website. At Vanity Date we have a vision of creating the largest database of the world’s most good looking, rich and superficial people.

“Now, this doesn’t mean you have to be a super model, but you have to be a so-called 7.0 and above to be allowed full access to the database or be talented and have an income over 200,000 dollars per year. Leave a bad taste in your mouth? If so, then we have accomplished our goal.

“Remember though, intelligence is encouraged. In fact, if we find out you have an IQ below 100, you will be kicked off the site.”

The site’s cheery address for complaints? It’s rotinhell@vanitydate.
