Thunderstorms packing heavy rain and hail pushed through South Texas and New Mexico, flooding homes and collapsing a portion of the roof of a grocery store.
In Crystal City, Texas, part of the roof of an H-E-B supermarket caved in after golf-ball-sized hail fell on the city, Police Chief Luis Contreras said. No one was hurt.
Melvin Thomas, fire chief in Fort Stockton in West Texas, said 30 people had to be evacuated as their homes flooded.
The storm system also brought up to 2 feet of snow to parts of New Mexico.
