Firefighters carried a disabled woman to safety early Wednesday after a fire ignited by a candle ravaged her home in the 2000 block of North French Street.
Suffering from smoke inhalation, both she and an adult daughter -- who suffered minor burns over 20% of her body -- were treated at a hospital after the 12:30 a.m. blaze.
The names of the victims were not released. Damage to the house was estimated to be at least $100,000.
