Cure Needed for Bush’s Drug Prescription Plan

Share

It is becoming increasingly clear that America’s seniors have not only been brainwashed but we’ve been taken to the cleaners. A year ago I joined Kaiser’s Senior Advantage, a Medicare-paid HMO plan. It was a good deal, I thought. Plavix and Neurontin were only $10 each for a 90-day supply. Then came President Bush’s Medicare prescription plan.

Talk about improved benefits ... wow! Plavix now costs $420, and Neurontin $690, for a 90-day supply. There is no generic equivalent for Plavix. According to the Canadian pharmacies, there is a generic equivalent for Neurontin, but apparently it cannot be sold in the U.S., thanks to our Republican friends in Congress and Bush. In the meantime, those who voted for this sham continue to get the best health and drug prescription plan that our hard-earned tax dollars can buy.
