‘Pirates’ leads MTV nominees

“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” picked up six nominations Wednesday as MTV unveiled the finalists for its 2004 Movie Awards. “50 First Dates” and “X2: X-Men United” each captured four.

All three of those films will vie for the best picture award, along with “Finding Nemo” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” The winners will be announced June 5 in ceremonies that will be televised on MTV on June 10.
