90 People Hospitalized After Lunch at College
At least 90 people attending a conference at the University of Maryland in College Park were taken to hospitals with possible food poisoning, university officials said.
Most of the patients were high school students attending a leadership conference this week, university representative Ellen Curtis said. They complained of nausea and were taken to hospitals in buses.
The source of the potentially tainted food was uncertain, Curtis said. They had eaten turkey and taco box lunches, though it was unclear whether they came from campus food services.
