Teen Pleads Guilty in Net Worm Attack

A high school senior pleaded guilty in federal court in Seattle to unleashing a variant of the “Blaster” Internet worm that crippled thousands of computers last summer.
Jeffrey Parson, 19, of Hopkins, Minn., pleaded guilty to one count of intentionally causing or attempting to cause damage to a protected computer. He had earlier pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors have recommended an 18-to-37-month sentence. Parson had faced a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
