Plan Would Allow Drug Imports From Europe

Two public officials plan to announce in Chicago today what they call the nation’s first program to help Americans import low-cost drugs from Europe.
Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, both Democrats, estimate that Illinois residents will be able to obtain prescription drugs not only from Canada but also from Great Britain and Ireland for savings of between 25% and 50% over domestically purchased drugs.
