Serviceman’s Body to Be Exhumed and Relocated
The Air Force will exhume the body of a serviceman who was killed in Vietnam and buried, without his wife’s knowledge, this month in Texas, a military spokesman said in Dallas.
The remains of Chief Master Sgt. Luther L. Rose of Howe, Texas, were recovered by a joint U.S.-Laotian excavation team. He was buried in Texas at the request of Janise Langford, a daughter from his first marriage.
Rose’s second wife, Beverly, said she learned of the burial only when she read about it in a newspaper. She requested that he be buried near her home in Haughton, La., and the military agreed.
