Night lifers get something new

New nightclubs are sprouting up like holiday decorations. First up, is Helios in Woodland Hills, owned by Michael Helo and Timothy Grabowski, a carpenter who built El Centro and Las Palmas, among other nightclubs. Helios, which is named after the Greek god of the sun, has a grand opening Tuesday. Next up is the Lucky Tiki, which makes its debut Dec. 20. The Mission Hills bar is an authentic ‘50s-style tiki bar, with Polynesian cocktails and a large, lava rock tiki-head fireplace. And Rick Calamaro and his partners from SGM, a management company that owns Ivar, Nacional, Paladar and Lincoln, are planning to debut two new clubs this month. First on the menu is Nine Thirty, a restaurant and bar at the W Hotel in Westwood. Nine Thirty opens for biz next week, but its official grand opening is slated for Jan. 12. In addition, the SGM boys are putting the finishing touches on the Venice Cantina, a sporty new restaurant and tequila bar on Windward Avenue in Venice. It also opens next week, with a grand opening Jan. 10 and 11. And we hear the cantina boasts a tequila menu the size of Mexico. Arriba!

13 isn’t unlucky for Three Clubs

Three Clubs in Hollywood is hosting its 13th annual holiday party on Saturday with the musical stylings of Charlie Cox.... Those looking to put a bit of Bing in their bling this season should head to the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel’s TEN20 room on Dec. 19 to hear singer Phil Crosby croon some of his grandfather’s favorite holiday perennials. It’s a surefire way to guarantee a “White Christmas” in SoCal.
