Three U.S. Troops Killed in Iraq
Two U.S. Marines were killed in action Monday in Iraq’s volatile western Al Anbar province, the military said, bringing to 10 the number of Marines reported killed in the region in the last three days.
Seven Marines died Sunday in Al Anbar, which includes the restive cities of Fallouja and Ramadi. That made Sunday the deadliest day for Marines in Iraq since nine were killed by a car bomb Oct. 30 outside Fallouja.
Also Monday, a U.S. soldier died near Balad, northwest of the capital, in a vehicle accident, the military said. Another soldier was killed Saturday. At least 40 U.S. troops have died in Iraq this month.
