Weighty Issue

Re “Gravity May Lose Its Pull,” Column One, Dec. 21: Just as some say with evolution, it’s time we acknowledge that gravity is simply a theory. That being the case, I propose we either stop teaching about the so-called force of gravity in the schools or offer students alternative explanations to how we stay firmly planted on Earth. There are other possibilities. Personally, I keep a 3-pound rock in each back pocket.
