Man Sentenced in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A man who pleaded guilty to the hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old boy while behind the wheel of a borrowed Lexus has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Christopher Shawn Werner, 29, struck and killed Alejandro Rosales on June 4 as the boy walked home from school.
Werner also pleaded guilty Wednesday to commercial theft, conspiracy to commit identity theft, possession of heroin and concealing evidence. Werner was ordered to pay $2,000 restitution for the boy’s funeral expenses and to the theft victims.
