11 Militants Sentenced for Having Explosives

The military court in Amman, Jordan’s capital, sentenced 11 Muslim militants to prison terms of up to 15 years for possessing explosives, rejecting charges that they conspired to attack American targets.

Two defendants were acquitted for lack of evidence. The prosecution had charged the 13 men with targeting the U.S. Embassy and Jordanian military bases near the eastern border with Iraq.
