Energizing the voters

Whether Rock the Vote can affect the political process remains to be seen, but the nonpartisan organization sure can pack Hollywood’s entertainment venues.

The program DJs Rock the Vote, headlined by German dance music guru Paul Van Dyk, is sold out, although a spokesperson said Wednesday that “about 100” VIP tickets remained for the show tonight at the Avalon Hollywood.

And the 11th Annual Rock the Vote Awards show Saturday at the Palladium is nearing a sellout. On the bill that night are the Dixie Chicks, N.E.R.D., Black Eyed Peas and Fountains of Wayne, as well as a handful of other celebrities.
