What’s wrong with Monet for everyone?
If Suzanne Muchnic and Christopher Knight had their way, only the creme de la creme of society could ever get to view the fine works of art that are at public museums across this country (“Monet, Monet, Money,” Feb. 4). The elitist smell of their joint critiques regarding the “Claude Monet: Masterworks From the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” exhibit at the Bellagio in Las Vegas is like that of a thankfully bygone era.
Once only the rich and powerful could view great works of art . Now that this is the 21st century, why not make it affordable for the masses to come to Sin City and view something so uplifting to the soul as Monet’s timeless vision of natural beauty? Las Vegas is a heck of a lot more affordable to see great art than Boston.
