NASA Off-Target for Fall Shuttle Launch Date

The chances that NASA will meet its latest target for the next space shuttle launch -- September or October -- are “very low,” agency head Sean O’Keefe told a House panel. The launch date is almost certain to slip until at least November, and perhaps even later, O’Keefe said at a hearing of the House Science Committee.
Since Columbia broke apart during reentry last year, NASA has been working on a long list of safety upgrades for the remaining three shuttles.
