Weirton Steel Accepts $255-Million Offer

Weirton Steel Corp. has accepted a $255-million buyout offer from International Steel Group Inc. of Richfield, Ohio, putting the acquirer on track to become the biggest integrated steel producer in the U.S.
After the Weirton, W.Va.-based company files the details of the offer with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wheeling, W.Va., in the next few days, a judge will solicit other bids. It may take as long as 45 days to close the sale.
