Fire Causes $100,000 in Damage to Church
An early-morning fire destroyed the interior of the Brethren of Christ Church on Wednesday, causing about $100,000 in damage to the 1960s-era structure, investigators said.
Pastor Scot Zagol said he was called to the church about 1:45 a.m. after a burglar alarm went off, and had just returned home when he received a second alarm call. By the time he got back to the church, about 2 a.m., he said, “the place was ablaze.”
Investigators said they had found no evidence of foul play, but the fire remained under investigation.
