Focusing on the picture

Gene Simmons of KISS got blasted by the stalkarazzi recently at Concorde nightclub in Hollywood. Despite the fact the famed rock ‘n’ roller graciously posed for photos on his way into the club, the photographers wanted more, making it impossible for him to move a step. So like, how much is enough?... Ran into KROQ DJ Stryker at El Centro last Thursday. He was coming off a career radio high. Earlier in the evening, his radio show’s guests had included rapper Jay-Z and Rick Rubin, who went on air to hype the Jay-Z single “99 Problems,” which Rubin produced. Stryker says the coolest thing about the night was Rubin’s fond recollection of Johnny Cash.... And speaking of the airwaves, seems everyone’s getting down to support Indie 103, the new station at 103.1-FM. The station, which plays everything from the Ramones to the Cure, Rancid and Patti Smith, is like a blast of fresh air. The club scene’s rallying around to support it, with a Bolthouse-produced party for the station in the works.

There’s madness, mayhem

And while we’re on the subject of the Knitting Factory, don’t miss the

High Rollers: Rockabilly Madness at the club’s Alter-

knit Lounge on March 9. The Arizona group’s new album, “Hung Over,” says it all.... Meanwhile, on a much more serious note, a recent stabbing at the House of Blues and a shooting over the weekend at rock ‘n’ roll Denny’s on Sunset Boulevard are putting a damper on the Strip. Beyonce

and Jay-Z’s

Valentine’s party, originally scheduled for the Roof at

the Hyatt, was

canceled because

of the mayhem.

You know, it sounds like a cliche, but can’t we all just get along?
