Share

Willie Works, who won five of eight races as a 2-year-old, is entered in tonight’s $27,050 Cypress Sophomore Handicap at 350 yards.

Trained by Blane Schvaneveldt, Willie Works -- a Utah-bred gelding -- finished worse than second only once last year and earned two graded stakes victories in his final two races as a juvenile.

The chestnut beat Metallic Lion as a 9-1 longshot in the California Juvenile Challenge on Aug. 29, then won the Juvenile Challenge Championship, a Grade I, by 1 1/4 lengths on Nov. 1. Rodrigo Aceves will ride Willie Works.
