A spirit of renewal

Share

It seems that in L.A., the winter holiday lights never get packed away. We Angelenos never stop trying to shine. Why should we? We don’t have a dark, gray winter to draw us inside our houses and inside ourselves. But this weekend, the party season that started on Halloween ends. The last of the celebrations asks us to ask ourselves, what will we bring to the new year? And even if you didn’t go to an organized celebration of Kwanzaa or Hanukkah or Las Posadas, you just needed to wake up the day after the Christmas storm, to the well-scrubbed blue sky, to be reminded of renewal.

Happy new year.
