A 13th century Ethiopian church hewn out of rock collapsed last week, killing at least 15 people attending a service to commemorate an Orthodox Christian saint, state radio said.

Rescuers combing through the cavernous structure in a remote part of Ethiopia said they might recover more bodies from the Mewa Tsadkan Gabriel church. Tens of thousands of worshipers flock to the church to pray and give alms for the festival of St. Gabriel.
