Bus That Controls Signals Introduced
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Sacramento Regional Transit system has introduced its first “E bus” -- an express bus that can electronically control traffic signals at intersections.
The technology aboard the “E bus,” which stands for enhanced bus, eliminates waits at red lights along the bus’ route.
Express service along Sacramento’s Stockton Boulevard was launched Monday.
If successful, the enhanced bus service program could be expanded.
