Group to Discuss Cleanup of Base in Ventura County

An advisory committee will meet today to discuss the ongoing environmental cleanup program at Naval Base Ventura County.
The committee, made up of community, regulatory and Navy representatives, meets quarterly to review cleanup of soil and groundwater contamination at the base, which includes Port Hueneme and Point Mugu.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Orvene Carpenter Community Center, 550 Park Ave., in Port Hueneme. For more information, call 982-2969.
