Man Pulled From Debris 13 Days After Quake
From Times Wire Reports
A 57-year-old man was pulled from the rubble of the earthquake-shattered city of Bam, barely conscious but still alive after 13 days, thanks to a nearby source of water.
“It’s a miracle,” Dr. Mahdi Shadnoush said of the rescue of the man, identified only as Jalil. The doctor said the ruins where he was found were wet, but the water source was unknown.
Jalil was able to tell rescuers his name before passing out, said a hospital official. The Dec. 26 quake killed more than 30,000 people.
