From Times Wire Reports

Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson refused a demand from civil rights activists to dismiss a white police officer who fatally shot a black teenager this month.

Police have said they will complete an investigation of the shooting by early February and turn their findings over to prosecutors.

Police say the Jan. 3 shooting occurred during a drug purchase gone awry, but have declined to comment on whether any department policies were violated.
