JUST BACK
I went with Die Hard Rockhounds to the Cryo-Genie Mine in Warner Springs [San Diego County]. We dug through mine tailings for tourmaline and quartz crystals. The mine tour was amazing -- white rock with black tourmaline and mica, glittering and beautiful. A massive column of quartz points fascinated, and the tailings revealed a rich array of specimens.
