That Hydrogen Won’t Come Out of Thin Air

Share

What always gets left out of the discussion is where the hydrogen will come from (“Hydrogen Car Buyers Out of Their Element?” June 9).

It takes a lot of energy to separate hydrogen from water or from natural gas. The only discussion of where this energy will come from that I have seen was that it would take a whole string of nuclear power plants across the nation to provide the needed energy.

That doesn’t sound very environmentally friendly to me, yet it is the environmentalists who are always named as the cheering section for hydrogen.

Please count this environmentalist out.
