MSNBC.com to Post Its First Profit
MSNBC.com, the 8-year-old online news website joint venture between Microsoft Corp. and NBC News, will post its first profit in the latest quarter, the world’s largest software maker said.
The online news website, launched in 1996 along with cable news channel MSNBC in the early days of the Internet boom, posted revenue of more than $45 million in the last year, helping push MSNBC.com into the black in the most-recent fiscal quarter.
Microsoft is due to report earnings for the quarter that ended June 30 on July 22. NBC is a unit of General Electric Co.
