Dave Matthews will be a poster boy for Napster, at least for music customers wandering the aisles of Best Buy.

The Dave Matthews Band on Thursday made its entire catalog of music available for purchase on Napster, and the now-legit music service will use the fan-favorite jam band as famous faces to promote its new alliance with Best Buy.

“Getting our music into the hands of our fans has always been our No. 1 concern,” Matthews said.

Showing how far Napster is removed from its college-dorm days, beginning this weekend, Best Buy customers who purchase a computer or MP3 player from the retailer’s stores or website will get a free Napster “starter kit,” which has special offers and coupons for the novice Napster-ite.
