From Times Wire Reports

Police seized 4.5 tons of cocaine with an estimated street value of $90 million in northwestern Colombia. The drugs allegedly belonged to a powerful paramilitary commander who refuses to participate in government-sponsored peace talks, authorities said.

The seizure near the town of Necocli was one of the biggest in Colombia.

The cocaine allegedly belonged to right-wing warlord Jose Alfredo Berrio. He has infuriated the main paramilitary umbrella group known as the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia by refusing to participate in a cease-fire and ongoing peace talks with President Alvaro Uribe.
