Rebels Kidnap Bishop to Use as Messenger

Colombian Marxist guerrillas have kidnapped a Roman Catholic bishop, saying they planned to release him with a message for the government, church leaders said.
The National Liberation Army on Sunday seized Misael Vacca, the bishop of Yopal, 130 miles northeast of the capital, Bogota, said Msgr. Fabian Marulanda, secretary-general of the Bishops’ Conference of Colombia.
