Israel Kills Militant Leader, Aide in Gaza
From Times Wire Reports
Israeli helicopter gunships killed the leader of a Gaza-based Palestinian militant group and his assistant in a missile strike on their car in the southern Gaza Strip.
The strike targeted Amr abu Sitta, 35, a founder of the Abu Rish Brigades, which has mounted shooting and bomb attacks against Israelis, including a sniper attack Sunday in Gaza that wounded an Israeli soldier.
“He was responsible ... for hundreds of attacks against troops and civilians,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
