Timeshares are for everyone
Anyone can purchase a week at a five-star property for a few thousand dollars by scanning websites (including Resort Property Marketing International, where I bought mine) for timeshare resales [“Timeshare Market Is Booming, but They’re Not for Everyone,” Travel Insider, May 16].
The average week at a timeshare costs $16,000. In reality, they can be purchased for far less. Also many timeshare companies will offer flexible vacation options where you can buy points into a resort network and divide up your time among destinations. When excess inventory exists, you can buy additional nights from $20 to $60 per additional night.
If you have to finance it, you should not be buying it. The point is, timeshares are for everyone -- if they know what they are doing.
