NASCAR Race Expected to Snarl U.S. 101 Traffic
Officials are warning that roads near Infineon Raceway will be jammed over the weekend.
About 100,000 auto racing enthusiasts are expected to pack the southern Sonoma County venue Sunday afternoon for the main race of NASCAR’s Dodge/Save Mart 350.
The California Highway Patrol recommends that drivers use alternate routes to avoid the traffic jam. U.S. 101 “is going to see the biggest impact from the race,” said Sgt. Wayne Ziese. “The word to the wise is to avoid the area.”
