Ovitz’s Brief but Expensive Run at Disney

Share

Re “As Spender, Ovitz Was $6-Million Man,” Feb. 28: The outrageous expense excesses of Michael Ovitz during his short stint as president at Walt Disney Co. are a reflection of a total lack of judgment, arrogance and disdain for shareholders. This record also raises serious questions about Michael Eisner’s leadership. How could Eisner have missed and permitted a $2-million office renovation? And then, to ease the exit pain of this bad hire, Ovitz is given a severance package valued at $100 million. Talk about gorging at the corporate trough.
