“Mr. Marmalade,” by Noah Haidle, will replace the recently announced “The Studio” on the South Coast Repertory season in the April 30-May 16 slot on the Argyros Stage.

“The Studio,” by Christopher d’Amboise, has been postponed for additional development, which may or may not take place at South Coast, said a theater spokesman.

“Mr. Marmalade” will be part of South Coast’s Pacific Playwrights Festival, which also will include May 7-9 readings of “The Singing Forest” by Craig Lucas, “Vesuvius” by Lucinda Coxon, an untitled play by Richard Greenberg and Sarah Ruhl’s “The Clean House,” which last week won this year’s Susan Smith Blackburn Award for best unpublished new play by a woman.

A previously announced production of Amy Freed’s “Safe in Hell” is also part of the festival.
