Judge Refuses to Release Janklow During Appeal
From Times Wire Reports
A judge refused to release former Rep. Bill Janklow from jail while he appeals his manslaughter conviction in an auto accident that killed a motorcyclist.
Circuit Judge Rodney Steele said that he did not believe the conviction would be overturned and that putting off the sentence would delay a resolution of the case for the victims and public.
Janklow started serving a 100-day jail sentence Feb. 7 in Sioux Falls.
