Group Says It Told Military of Sex Abuse
A support group for military sexual assault victims said it told officials about at least two serial sex offenders among U.S. troops in the Middle East.
The Miles Foundation said it had received reports of 83 servicewomen in the region being raped or assaulted in the last 18 months, many of whom did not complain through official channels.
In at least two cases, multiple victims named the same soldier, said Christine Hansen, executive director of the Connecticut-based group.
Pentagon spokesmen said they were unaware of the group’s complaint. A departmental review of the sexual assault issue has been ordered.
