Shaq Has Big Day in Store
Shaquille O’Neal usually does something memorable on his birthday. Four years ago he had a 61-point game against the Clippers. Today he will unveil a 40-foot neon likeness of himself at Universal Studios CityWalk to mark the opening of the Team LA store at the promenade.
“I hope it’s a nice new store for the millions of fans that walk through Universal City CityWalk,” said O’Neal, who turns 32 today. “I hope they enjoy the store.”
The official grand opening with O’Neal is at 3 p.m. O’Neal is a partner with Anschutz Entertainment Group in the 4,000-square-foot store that features the local pro teams’ merchandise. It is the first Team LA store outside of the initial Team LA in Staples Center.
