Church Sues Insurer in Sex Abuse Settlement

The Archdiocese of Boston has sued Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Co. for refusing to cover millions in payments to victims of clergy sex abuse.
The insurer claims that the church’s $85-million settlement with 522 victims of clergy abuse was a voluntary payment and it was not obligated to contribute.
