Ventura County supervisors have selected Noel Klebaum to serve as the county’s top lawyer beginning April 1.

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Klebaum to the job of county counsel. Klebaum, who has worked for the county since 1989, will replace Frank Sieh, who is retiring.

Klebaum, who has served as chief assistant in the county’s legal department since 2001, will earn $161,787 a year in his new job and will supervise 20 lawyers in civil matters.
