12 Contractors Indicted in Wildfire Work Sting
From Times Wire Reports
Twelve unlicensed contractors were indicted after an undercover sting operation in which local officials posed as victims of October’s wildfires in San Diego County.
The contractors solicited work at a house ravaged by the Cedar fire, according to San Diego Dist. Atty. Bonnie Dumanis and California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi. The indictments were handed down Friday.
The Disaster Fraud Management Team posed as homeowners in need of fire repair over a two-day period in February.
